At the start of the year, my girl friends and I decided to book Boracay tickets for our late summer vacation (end of May is the only available weekend we all share).
I was, and still am, very much excited about it because it’s my first time to go to Boracay. But most, if not all, are, rather, pressured that they’re to the beach. Why? ‘coz it’s time to hit the gym and work overtime to achieve firm, gorgeous “beach bodies”.
I told my boyfriend that’s ridiculous. Why would people have to have ‘beach bodies’?! His reply? “You don’t understand ‘coz you don’t need to work out. You’re thin!”. Haha, I guess. :P But..unfortunately, that no longer holds true.
I’ve been eating out a lot lately. Blame it on my new relationship, we’ve been having dates about 4x a week!!! (but I’m totally not complaining, hihi). Also, with my recent peptic ulcer/dyspepsia/hyperacidity (I still do now know what it really is), I eat a lot. I cannot be an inch close to being hungry because my stomach juices really act up. :(
To cut my drama short, I gained 10 lbs and 3 belly inches! :(
And so, I’ve decided to enroll myself in barre3. (Google it if you don’t know what the hell it is). Good thing The Spa at Rockwell already opened, it’s just a 3 minute walk from where I live. :D
Last night was my first session and I almost gave up. I don’t consider myself puny (because I like energetic activities: running around in circles, swimming and whatnots), but I was terrible last night I don’t know why. I’ve tried barre3 before (last year, on my birthday!) and it wasn’t a struggle. Last night was different. Maybe because of being 10lbs heavier.
The 1-hour session definitely awaken my slumbering muscles - muscles I don’t even know existed. From my hamstrings, to my gluts (oh my gluts!), to my abdominal muscles, to my biceps and triceps, to every nook and cranny.
Jem challenged me, giving me 2 months to prove that my body and weight will improve after barre3. I said 1 month is enough (my Boracay trip is due next month, anyway.) I am super determined to have a rock-hard, firm belly. F*ck my stomach ulcer for causing me to have this ‘baby bump’! :(
I hope I’m all recovered up tomorrow. I can’t wait for Day 2! :s
